At the end of 1956, Louis Armstrong began undertaking the monumental business of recording his “musical autobiography”. Distinct from some veteran jazzmen of the spell, Armstrong was still fond of coronate early recordings and, with this 4LP set, proved that he was decidedly capable of revitalising many of earlier successes.
